The executive committee of the Fondation Lucien-Piché is proud to announce the renewal of the Lucien-Piché/OmegaChem scholarship. The objective of this 2,000$ scholarship is to encourage students enrolled in an undergraduate chemistry program to continue at the graduate level. The renewal of this scholarship will strengthen the relationships between academia and industry.
Founded in 1988, OmegaChem is a Canadian manufacturing company engaged in organic chemistry. The company's mission is to develop, manufacture and distribute fine chemicals, mainly high-value organic synthesis intermediates, niche products such as organofluorinated compounds, chiral molecules derived from amino acids and highly functionalized heterocyclic molecules. In addition to the products offered in its catalogue, OmegaChem develops and synthesizes for its customers molecules for biological tests under research and development contracts. OmegaChem employs more than 65 highly qualified scientists, the majority of whom have a master's or doctoral degree. They have access to high-tech equipment and laboratory facilities enabling them to perform advanced chemistry and better accompany clients and partners throughout custom synthesis projects, chemical process optimization or contract research while meeting needs ranging from milligram to the multi-kilogram scale (www.omegachem.com).
