Lucien-Piché/NuChem Therapeutics Scholarship awarded to Mr. Cédric Dicaire-Leduc from the chemistry

The board of administrators is happy to announce that the 2017 Lucien-Piché/NuChem Therapeutics Scholarship is awarded to Mr. Cédric Dicaire-Leduc from the chemistry department of Université de Montréal. Mr. Dicaire-Leduc obtained his college degree from the Cégep Édouard-Montpetit in 2015. In the same year, he joined the chemistry department of the Université de Montréal to begin his undergraduate studies in chemistry. Mr. Dicaire-Leduc has a truly impressive list of awards, prizes and scholarships that includes the NSERC undergraduate scholarship (2016 and 2017), the center for green chemistry and catalysis scholarship, the CREATE-SFC scholarship, the Dean's scholarship, and the Lionel-Lemay prestige scholarship. He did a first research internship in the group of Pr. Hélène Lebel in 2016 where he worked on the synthesis of oxazolidinones via a C-H activation reaction catalyzed by a rhodium-catalyst and a second internship at IRIC in the group of Pr. Anne Marinier where he worked on the synthesis of therapeutic compounds. In his young career, he already has one publication in the international peer reviewed journal Organic and Biomolecular Chemistry. In addition, he's been playing baseball since he was 5 years old and he started studying piano a year ago. The Fondation Lucien-Piché and NuChem Therapeutics are extremely proud to support and encourage a young promising scientist such as Mr. Dicaire-Leduc with a 2,000$ scholarship and wish him all the very best in his studies and career.
